Academic and non-academic operations were severely impacted due to the ongoing issues on the identity management platform. There are approximately 400K identities synchronized from the ERP system to Active Directory and integrated with numerous applications in the cloud. Students', academic and administrative staffs’ productivity is impacted due to password / identity synchronization issues across multiple business applications running in the cloud as well as on premise servers. As part of recent business acquisition management wants to rebrand the 400K identities and application names to a new naming scheme to reflect the organization's change.
Brio recommended a solution to deploy a new active directory with site resilience into the latest windows operating system and migrate the identities, servers and DNS records to the new platform. This solution has mitigated the ongoing synchronization issues and organization wide name change on the identities and application names. Also recommend to centralize the authentication server in cloud platforms and decommission the remote locations domain controllers. This ensures the overhead of maintaining the on-prem servers in remote locations.
